Goal: |
Improve Timeliness and Communication
|
How: |
Next year, I want to ensure that each deadline set by the Convention or executive cabinet is met on time. I plan to do this by having the Chief of Staff check in every week or attend weekly department calls so that they can make sure that goals and timelines are followed and met. Another problem that we faced this year in Convention was that at times, work was not spread out evenly among the directors and agents. This is something I hope to combat next year by making sure that everyone in the department always has something to work on, each agent always receives an assignment, and that the Convention Department maintains communication between directors and agents.
In terms of nighttime activities, next year I plan to use the Director of Outreach (see my ideas about Publicity!) to collect feedback about what new activities delegates want to see at conventions. I want to improve upon the success of pre-existing activities like the dance and the game room, and implement new activities that the delegates request. |
Why: |
Maintaining a strict schedule for the Convention department is necessary to ensure our conventions are the best they can be. Having and enforcing early deadlines prevents the planning process from being rushed and hectic, and allows time to deal with any problems that may arise. By increasing Convention's communication with Big 3, Dan, and the Chiefs of Staff, we can ensure conventions are fun and engaging, but also follow all the rules. Utilizing the data from the new Director of Outreach, we will make conventions an inclusive experience that is representative of every delegate's opinions and desires for NorCal.
